Helen Michele Meyers

Meyers, Helen (Mulvey)
INVERNESS, FL
Previously from Newark DE, Earleville, MD and Norwood, PA

On January 8, 2020 Helen Meyers, age 94, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side.  Helen departed her earthly life and was ushered into heaven by God’s angels into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She was born in Little River (Miami) FL on November 8, 1925 to George Mulvey and Anita (Nay) Mulvey.

Helen lived her childhood years in California and Nevada.  She was a resident of Norwood, PA for over 50 years, before becoming a resident of Newark, DE for 15 years, subsequently moving to Inverness, FL in 2013.  Helen always worked to help support the family over the years.  She worked as a newspaper correspondent for the Delco Times, school secretary for Interboro Intermediate High School, and tour guide for Talmadge Tours (she loved travel).  She then went back to school and became a legal secretary landing a job in a center city Philadelphia law firm.  Helen loved the Lord with all of her heart and all of God’s creation including the ocean, sunsets, and everything in between.  She especially loved people.

Helen was a member of Elkton United Methodist Church before moving to Florida.  She thrived and grew spiritually at EUMC and had many wonderful  friends there.   She was a member of  the Ruth-Sarah Women’s Circle in which she participated in the group’s activities to help out with church programs reaching out to the less fortunate.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Meyers, to whom she was married for 51 years.  She is survived by her children David (Linda) Meyers, Elizabeth Meyers Cawley, and Thomas Meyers, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.  Helen is survived by her sister Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Schwartz whom she adored, staying very close by way of handwritten letters to and from California for over 60 years; and twin brothers whom she loved, Jerry Mulvey and George Mulvey.  She is also survived by Robert Meyers, her loving brother in law, aka Uncle Bob.

A memoriam service to remember and honor Helen will be held at Elkton United Methodist Church in the spring 2020.  Newspaper notification will be printed at that time. Interment Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA will be private.
Donations may be made in her memory to the American Bible Society or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
