Nancy M Zembruski

Nancy M. (Curro) Zembruski, beloved wife of Bill Zembruski, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, at the Hospice House of Citrus County, Lecanto, FL on July 8, 2018 at the age of 74.  She was born on May 25, 1944 in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of Anthony and Florence (Fouch) Curro.

Nancy graduated from Redwood High School in Corte Madera, CA and then moved to Hawaii where she worked as a secretary for a staffing firm.  While in Hawaii, she met and got engaged to Bill and then moved to New England to get married and raise a family. She was a very loving and caring woman who helped countless people throughout her career as a human resources/staffing manager with companies including Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT and J. Morrissey & Company in Windsor, CT and Warwick, RI.

In addition to her husband Bill of 48 years and her two sons, Matthew (Soraia) and Adam (Beth), she leaves 3 grandchildren, Michael, Gabe, and Eva; three sisters, Louisa (Curro) Paton, Julie Curro and Mary (Curro) Heintz (Ron). She also leaves her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Dorothy Marra of Westerly, RI.

Nancy's sparkling personality came through most when she was laughing with Bill, her children Matt and Adam, Adam's wife Beth and her grandchildren, Michael, Gabe and Eva. Her laughter, love for others and her smile and hugs will be what everyone will remember most. Nancy had a unique ability to warm your heart and make you feel unconditionally loved just by being in her presence.

Knitting and cooking gave Nancy a great deal of peace and joy, each feeding her desire to passionately serve others. Over the years, Nancy loved to knit countless hats, socks, mittens and other items for everyone, especially her grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends and the various organizations to which she happily gave her time. When Nancy and Bill moved to Homosassa, FL, Nancy organized The Knit Wits, a knitting group at the local library which became a large group of new friends who met weekly to work on their latest project.

As per her request, funeral services will not be held.

If you wish to leave a donation in Nancy’s memory, the family suggests donating to The Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, P.O. Box 23827, Tampa, FL 33623-3827, (www.moffitt.org), or a charity of your choice.
