Harold "Bud" Smith

Harold "Bud" Smith of Crystal River, FL passed away at home surrounded by family.  He was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1953 and moved to Clearwater, FL in 1957.  Bud attended Dunedin High; St. Petersburg College; Emmitsburg, Maryland National Fire College; and, served in the United States Air Force.  In 1977, he served the community of Safety Harbor as Fire Captain for 30 years and retired in 2007.  He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gail M. Smith and three children, Joseph Smith (Selina) of Huntsville, AL; Clayton Smith (Stephanie) of Webster, FL and Jessica Thornton (Luke) of Longview, TX, a sister Marilyn Lowery of Peachtree City, Ga.   Six grandchildren, Callie Smith, Charlie Smith, Zoey Smith, Molly Gibbons, Jack Gibbons and Maisie Thornton.
