Donald Paul Cravens passed peacefully in his home with his family at age 67. He had a loving marriage, was a true inspiration to all, and is survived by his wife, Elaine Cravens, his children Chris Cravens, Craig Cravens, Kim Barton and Bliss Santiago. He was adored by his grandchildren Taylor Barton, Tyler Barton, Trevor Cravens, Rhiannon Cravens, Ocean Santiago and Kai Santiago. His words of wisdom and quick wit will be missed by all. He is also survived by his mother, Wilma Jean Cravens and sister Beth Ann Cravens who take great pride in a life well lived by Don.
He lived in Indianapolis most of his life where he attended Southport High School and owned the barber shop Great Manes until 1986. After moving to Tampa, he worked at Piedmont Airlines, US Airways and then owned The Herron Group until 2007. Life took Don and Elaine to Santa Fe, New Mexico where he worked at Santa Fe Community College and earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Culinary Arts. He took his love of volleyball with him, making friends and taking down opponents over the years and across the states. After moving to The Villages in Florida, Don filled his days with riding and working at the Harley Davidson shop. He played in a traveling Senior Olympics Volleyball team winning several championships and medals.
Don was a warrior, a champion, an adventurer and brightened the lives of all who crossed his path. He was thoughtful, worked with integrity, loved his family, friends and dogs, and kept everyone laughing. His spirit was rich, his smile bright and he will not be forgotten.
His family and friends will celebrate his life in both Indianapolis and Tampa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made @ https://www.healthwellfoundation.org/donate/ a foundation that helped Don acquire medications in a time of need.
