Diana Gail Colvin Stout

Diana Gail Colvin Stout, a beloved mother, wife, Nana, sister, and friend, gained her angel wings on Friday, August 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on August 23, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana, Diana spent her childhood in Norfolk, Virginia, and Clarksburg, West Virginia. She later married Gary Stout, with whom she built a life and raised their family in North Carolina and Virginia. Gary preceded her in death in 2020.

Diana was a wonderful and devoted mother to her daughter, Joanna Muscolino and her husband, Steve, and her son, Gregory Stout and his wife, Ashley. She is also survived by her stepson, Gary Lee Stout, Jr., and her beloved grandchildren, Lindsey and Dylan Anderson. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured the time, traditions, laughter, and memories they shared together.

Diana loved her family with everything she had. She found happiness in the simple things that made a house feel like home—music playing, caring for those around her, and especially cooking and baking for the people she loved. Her homemade pizza and her sausage gravy and biscuits were family favorites that will be remembered and missed for years to come. Rod Stewart was a favorite soundtrack, and anyone who knew Diana also knew about her enduring love affair with an ice-cold Coca-Cola.

Soft-spoken by nature, Diana nevertheless had an unforgettable laugh—the kind of laugh that could bring you to tears simply from laughing along with her. With her beautiful red hair, big blue eyes, and that unmistakably cute grin, she had a warmth about her that those who loved her will never forget.

Above everything else, Diana was a caregiver at heart. She spent her life taking care of the people she loved. When pancreatic cancer entered her life, she faced what followed with tremendous strength and fought incredibly hard until the very end.

She leaves behind a family who will deeply miss her laughter, her beautiful smile, her gentle presence, and the countless ways she showed her love. A wonderful wife, devoted mother, loving sister, and treasured Nana, Diana created memories that her family will carry with them always. We find comfort knowing she is reunited in Heaven with her husband, Gary, her parents, and her brother, enjoying an ice-cold Coca-Cola and watching over all of us.
